What you choose to focus on becomes what you see in your life.
In just the past couple days since deciding to start blogging again, I’ve noticed a flip in my perspective. My main goal of writing is to share perspectives on self improvement, Stoicism, and health living. When I began looking for topics to write about from my daily life, the content flowed naturally.
I will admit, my view of the world has been more cynical in the past few months. With interacting with hundreds of people on a weekly basis, I noticed my temper slipping and opinions being more pessimistic. But since focusing more on how I can be better and view the world in healthier ways, the things that were bothering me have started becoming lessons and moments to practice.
The world does not cater to your expectations and people will not always be friendly, but you always have a choice in how you deal. When I wasn’t intending to be better, a lot of things drove me up a wall, but as I try to go back to my old ways, I’m finding these same moments more bearable.
If you choose to focus on the bad, you’re going to see it everywhere. If you choose to learn and grow, you’ll find opportunities all over. Tough moments become life lessons and obstacles become a challenge in resilience. You start asking yourself “how can I work through this?” instead of “why does this have to happen to me?”
If you want to be better and see the world in a new light, try switching your focus. Look for the good and look for opportunities to practice your philosophy. You’ll be amazed at what you’re capable of when you decide to grow.
