Sometimes you have to be willing to alter your routines. Are you able to improvise in order to get the necessities done?
Today I had to cook dinner at 9 am. Pretty sure I’ve never done that before. Since it’s labor day weekend, I’m headed to the lake for the day. Being there for a few hours throws off my normal plan for 75 Hard. Typically on a Saturday, I’d space everything out over the day, but today I can’t. So I had to improvise.
I woke up at 8 to go for my walk. It was a tough one. I’m starting to feel the soreness in my joints and muscles after doing this every day for a week. I went slower than I would’ve liked and I had to pause to stretch a few times, but I got it done. Then I had to deal with the diet aspect of the challenge – no cheat meals, so I have to bring my own meals to the lake. So when I returned home, I prepped my oatmeal then cooked my dinner. I’ll still have to do my second workout this evening, which sucks, but it’s necessary.
Sometimes you can’t follow your typical routine. Life doesn’t always run on your personal schedule. When you need to get shit done, you gotta be able to do it no matter what the day looks like. It’s not worth dreading or having anxiety over, you just need to improvise the day ahead and do things you don’t usually do.
Are you able to swith it up? Are you willing to sacrifice sleeping in to prepare for the day? Can you limit your lazy time to be productive?
In order to achieve your goals, you need to be willing to do whatever is necessary. You won’t always be able to do things when you want, so you need to do them when you have the time. It may not always be ideal, but it needs to get done. So be open to change, take it day by day, and do what you need to in order to progress and stay consistent.
