Get it Over With

Say what you want to say early on. Get it off your chest before it’s too late. You’ll save a lot of time and energy if you just do it now.

We all wish we could go back and change the past. If only we could return to those moments and try something different, everything would be better. Of course, none of us can do that, so we’re left with the results of our choices. I wish I could go back and play it all differently.

If I could try again, I’d voice my thoughts much earlier. I’d risk the nervousness in order to replace the whirlwind of emotions I experienced from holding it all in. I’d put everything on the table and follow the path it lead to. It’s likely that if I had said something earlier, it’d lead to the same result, however, the emotional turmoil would have been less severe. There wouldn’t be any questioning, anxiety, or overthinking because of have my answer and I’d know what I had to do.

I think outcomes are inevitable, but the path to those results is maleable. It was never meant to be, but I did everything I could to make it be. I fought every obstacle, ignored every instinct, all in an attempt to change the future.

You shouldn’t forego trying something because you know you’ll fail. Try if you please, but never force, and never draw it out longer than necessary. Put everything you have into the beginning, say what you want to say, be clear with your intentions. There’s no guarantee it’ll result in what you desire, but this way is better in the long run.

The emotions will be there, but they’ll be a fraction of what you’ll experience if you wait. You’ll learn the same lessons, but they won’t hit you like a ton of bricks. Everything will happen how it’s meant to, but you can save yourself a lot of time and effort if you do everything early.
