It’s weird how your decisions start to change as you prioritize your health. Don’t be surprised if you start making choices you’ve never made before.
I won’t lie, my body is quite tired from this challenge. It’s been a long 30 days with some easy ones, but also some super tough days sprinkled in. A lot of days, the last thing I want to do is go to the gym or walk in the heat. Since it’s a requirement though, I do it.
Even though I am exhausted, I’ve noticed some interesting changes in my actions. Today made me want to write about it because it was so different than anything I would’ve done before this challenge started.
I did my walk before work then the gym right after. I was tired and ready to rest, but my family was doing dinner down the road. For some reason, my gut was telling me to walk instead of drive. It was likely because my weight has stalled and I want to be consistently losing a little each week. I put on my vest and walked the quarter mile to the house.
I was so surprised by this choice because if you had asked me even a month ago, I would’ve driven 9 times out of 10. Since starting 75 Hard though, I’ve realized how far I’m capable of walking and shorter distances seem like nothing to me anymore.
I’ve noticed my cravings change, my water intake increase, my caffeine consumption decrease, and a lot of other minor switches. Since making this challenge a priority and trying my best to see amazing results, my habits have changed in lots of ways.
If you look at your life now and want to make drastic changes, it will probably feel daunting. It makes sense – you’ve been living this way for so long, it seems crazy to picture yourself doing anything else. The key is starting and making your priorities clear. You don’t need to have everything figured out from the beginning. With time and consistent effort, the habits start forming naturally.
So figure out what you want and how you can start as soon as possible – today would be ideal. Don’t worry too much about all the other habits you need to pick up in order to reach your goal, just start and let your mindset and habits slowly develop as you continue to progress.
