This Stuff’s Boring

This stuff’s boring as hell. It honestly sucks. Unfortunately, that’s what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle.

Tomorrow is the half way point of my 75 Hard journey and I’m tired of it. It’s gotten old and I’m bored of it. I want good food, I want to go out with friends for beer, and I want to rest. Those things aren’t in the cards right now though and in order to keep up this lifestyle after the fact, a lot of boring things are required.

A healthy lifestyle thrives off boring routines. It’s all about counting calories, eating good foods, refraining from alcohol, going to the gym, doing cardio, and so much more. If you want to be healthy, you have to be a little boring. That’s just the way it is.

I don’t think it has to be 100% boring though if you don’t want it to be. But if you choose to pull back a little, it just postpones your progress.

After all this is over, I’m going to enjoy some beer and unhealthy food here and there. I’m going to take days off from the gym and reduce my cardio drastically. That’s all fine in my eyes, but with that, I can’t be upset when I’m not in perfect shape, staying lean, and building muscle as quickly as I’d like.

It’s totally cool to enjoy your life as much as you can, but if you want to be healthy, you have to make some sacrifices and be boring more often than not. You can’t expect to be in top physical condition if you drink all the time, never lift weights, and never make healthy choices. If the majority of your time is invested in those habits that fuel your body, you can pull back sometimes.

It’s all about setting your priorities and deciding how much investment you want to put into achieving your goals. You choose how your life looks and the choices you make determine your results.
