A lot of people will not understand you. The good news is, they don’t have to.
When you make big decisions in your life – hard challenges, diets, workouts, passion projects, etc. – a lot of people are not going to understand. They won’t comprehend why you would do such and such, or subject yourself to this or that, or feel the need to change what you’re doing.
The people that don’t get it are not worth your time. That may sound harsh, but it’s true. If they can’t see how beneficial it is to challenge yourself, teach yourself discipline and restraint, set boundaries, and desire to be healthy, why would you want their opinions? Why take advice or hear criticism from someone with an utterly different mindset than you?
You determine what is right for your life and no one else should be able to sway you. Many people are so focused on sticking with the status quo that they cannot fathom doing something like you’re doing. That’s completely fine if they don’t, but don’t let it change your mindset or goals. Do the hard shit you desire to do and fuck the opinions and doubts of anyone who would never dream of doing the same.
Always strive to be better, healthier, smarter, more Stoic, more disciplined, and a strong human being. If they don’t understand, don’t waste your time explaining. You choose your own path in life and they choose yours. Don’t lose focus or change who you want to be because of wht someone else tells you.
