This week I sit down with my buddy Jake, a long time friend of Brandon Porter. Jake and I discuss his life up to this point, from all the mistakes, hardships, and successes. Like many people our age, Jake wasn’t sure what he wanted to study in college or where he wanted to go with his life, so he went in majoring in Biology before realizing that wasn’t his path. He ended up switching to Geology and putting 110% effort into his studies, leading to overwhelming exhaustion after graduation. Now Jake has been following the path he wants to, traveling to places like Utah and the Adirondacks to study the field he loves. In addition to his work life, Jake loves staying active by running, rowing, and hiking. He has an interesting point of view on setting goals, being too hard on yourself, as well as comparison to others, so we hope you learning something new from this interview.
