The more you put them off, the more they pile up.
“I’ll take care of them later” becomes a mantra, but “later” never comes.
Each time you’re reminded of them, you feel a pit of increasing depth in your gut as they slowly stack up.
Maybe they’ll take care of themselves, or someone else will take care of them for you.
Deal with them now, one at a time. You’ll feel much better that way.
I’m talking about dishes of course. You didn’t think I was creating a metaphor for your internal struggles did you?
