No one is responsible for your happiness except for you.
There is not a single person on this planet who has the power to steal your happiness. Others can lie, belittle, cheat, scream, and try to tear you down, but you decide your response.
The only thing we have control of is our mind. Our time can be stolen by strangers, traffic, and family. Our body can be overcome with disease and fatigue. Our own thoughts though, those are and forever will be our own.
You always have a choice to move on, to look past the mistake of another person. You always have the ability to understand where they are coming from and empathize. What they do and what they say never have to interrupt the focus and clarity of your thoughts.
If you want to be happy, you can be. If you aren’t happy, there is no one else you can blame. The accountability lies in your hands. You have to be willing to navigate your way through the negative thoughts in your head. That means distancing yourself from the people and things that spark the negative loop in your mind.
Stray away from it all until you find your own peace and discover your ability to choose a positive perspective of the world. Focus on finding the foods, activities, and habits that boost you up.
Meditation, long walks, sunlight, a balanced diet, philosophy, journaling, prayer, art… try it all! Spend time with yourself, in your own mind. Realize your happiness is no one’s responsibility except for your own.
Take all the time you need to strengthen your mind. Do whatever it takes to discover your influence on your thought patterns. Discover how attainable your own happiness is.
