Good Thing You Were An Asshole, Huh?

Good thing you called the post office worker incompetent, right? It really helped them find your package quicker didn’t it?

Thank goodness you cursed at the waiter! I bet it made your food taste amazing didn’t it?

Aren’t you glad you were an asshole?

What’s the damn point dude? I understand you’re upset. I get that you’re annoyed. But do you really have to ruin someone else’s day?

Being rude never makes you feel better. Calling someone names never makes them want to help you more than they already have to. Getting upset doesn’t solve your problems.

Take a damn breath. Pause before you speak. Let compassion be your guide. Work with the person you’re dealing with. See what both of you can do to solve this thing.

Have some patience. Accept the fact that the world doesn’t revolve around your schedule. Realize the person waiting on you is doing what they can to help.

When something doesn’t go your way, don’t let anger dictate your response. Learn to pause before the words come out. You don’t have to be upset by this.
