Know what you want, then release it into the Universe. There’s no need for excess thoughts or anxiety because you know what you’re striving for.
I’m trying something new and I’m going to see how it works for me. I’ve found that I’m overthinking a lot of circmstances before they play out in the real world. As we all know, you can never predict the future and the brain usually comes up with worst case scenarios which lead to anxiety.
When I dwell on how I want things to play out, I rehearse everything in my head for way too much time. I solidify exactly how I’ll act and respond to the situation. But what ends up happening is nothing like I envisioned. It almost always ends up better than I thought and the interactions I feared don’t play out.
So I considered how I could work with this. I realized I know exactly what I want, but the path to getting there is the unknown part. There’s no reason for me to plan out my next steps because I have no clue what tomorrow brings. So instead of sitting alone inside my own head, replaying all the possible scenarios, I simply remind myself of the final goal and release it. When thoughts arise again, I acknowledge them, but don’t feed them.
Your days will play out in unexpected ways. No amount of rehearsal will prepare you for what’s to come, so it’s better to respond to the Universe as it unfolds in front of you. You always keep your end goal in mind and let that drive your current decisions and actions. When a new challenge arises, you consider the options and choose the one that feels right in the moment. You consider which action will put you closer to your goal.
You shouldn’t expect to always make the “right” move, although some would say every move you make is the right one. You can’t be perfect because you can’t know how the decisions you make play out in the long run. All you can do is try your best and do what you feel is right.
It’s not easy to shut your brain off when it starts coming up with scenarios, but keeping your goal in mind can help. If you have faith everything will work out how it’s meant to, there should be no fear and no need for anxiety. Know what you want, make it clear to yourself, release it, then respond to the present moment in ways that lead you to that goal.
