Unique Life Lessons – How Will You Learn and Grow?

We all learn unique life lessons and each of us learns them in our own ways.

None of the blogs I write about my lessons learned are “original”. They’re not original in the sense that I’m not the first person to discuss these topics. I’m not the first to write about looking for the good in adversity. A lot of people before me have weighed in on Stoicism. Many before me and many to come have and will speak on compassion, patience, and empathy.

Simply because someone else has or will share their thoughts on these topics does not mean I cannot.

In each of our lives we have to learn hard life lessons, especially in an attempt to improve ourselves. We won’t all learn the same lessons, they won’t all be learned at the same times, nor in the same ways. There are some main lessons everyone should learn – lessons in empathy, patience, focusing on the right things, seeing the good in the world, etc.

In sharing my ideas, my perspectives, and my lessons learned, it is not my intention to write something groundbreaking. These blogs are a way for me to share my story as it plays out. It’s my own reminder of all I’ve been through and what I learned from it all.

When I learn an important lesson, I don’t expect you to learn the same thing through the same experience. While I believe reading the ideas of others can change your mindset, nothing compares to physically experiencing something and reflecting on it – applying what you learned to your own life.

None of us is perfect. We all have tough lessons to learn. The only way to learn is to try things, experience life, make mistakes, and reflect. So go out there and read the ideas of others, but always remember how important it is to experience life and learn for yourself.
