Your priorities are what determine where your life will go. If you don’t choose them, you’ll wander aimlessly. If you set them and commit, you’ll have direction and purpose.
If 75 Hard taught me one thing, it’s that your priorities determine what your life looks like. If you tell yourself you have specific things that need to be done each day and you commit to doing them, your life will have direction and purpose. With priorities, you don’t have to question how to spend your time or feel like you’re wasting it.
My priorities during the challenge were clear – reading, diet, exercise, and adequate sleep. Now that 75 Hard is over, it’s up to me to develop new priorities. I liked how my life looked during that 3 months, but I want it to be more open and I want to add new objectives with the additional time I’ll have .
So now knowing how priorities work and what truly committing to goals looks like, I’m left trying to decide what my main ones will be. I know they don’t have to be set in stone, but for now I think it’s clear. I will commit to at least 5 gym days a week and at least 3 cardio sessions. I want to focus on my japanese and commit to at least 30 minutes a day. I also want to prioritize ETT – blogs, social media, and building the coffee business.
Choosing your priorities is the easy part, the committing to doing them every day is hard. With 75 Hard, I learned how to do something without fail every day, so I know it’s possible. The tough part now is proving I can do it without the added push of a challenge at stake.
Can you find it in you to stay consistent through discipline alone? What are you willing to give up and turn down in order to accomplish your goals? Figure out your priorities and commit to them. Don’t let excuses get in your way
