No Pain, No Gain

It finally happened. For the first time since starting 75 Hard, I got a migraine. Days like these – the ones when you question how you’ll do it, are the days that make or break your progress and discipline.

I woke up with a horrible pain in my left eye and I knew it was going to be a rough day in front of me. I did my best to get ready, drive to work, and open the shop. It was no easy task and I did not want to be there, but I knew it’d only last a couple hours. My work flow was much slower because I didn’t feel steady on my feet, I was nauseous, tired, and irritable, but I fought through.

Ever fiber of my being wanted to call in sick to sleep it off and the entire morning was spent dreading my later workout and walk, but I fought the urge to rest. Eventually the pain wore off and I was feeling alright minus a little dehydration, but I still was making excuses to skip the workouts. I didn’t of course and it sucked, but I’m not quitting.

You gotta fight through some days. If you have responsibilities and goals to achieve, obstacles cannot stop you. You can’t expect every day to be perfect and easy. You need to be willing to adapt, adjust, and work through hardship. It’s going to suck, but that’s what it takes.

Do everything in your power to get the job done no matter what. Take it slow, one step at a time, and do whatever is right in front of you to the best of your ability. It may not be your best work, but it has to be done. Fight through and stay consistent.
