Day 5 – I have no free time in my days. Is that good or bad?

One good thing about committing to 75 Hard is knowing that I have to schedule my day around the rules of the challenge. As a result, I’ve had very little time to just sit, look at my phone, and be lazy. Like today, work from 7-11:30, walk 11:30-12:15, lunch, read, go to gym, shower, second work shift, write blog. That was my day with max an hour of rest.

Ultimately it feels pretty awesome knowing that I’m accomplishing so much in a day. It’s nice knowing that I’m breaking out of that little rut I was in where I was spending a majority of my time being unproductive. I feel empowered knowing that I’m able to acheive everything I need to no matter what my day looks like.

Who knows, maybe that’ll get old after a couple weeks. Maybe I’ll want nothing more than to simply do nothing for hours. But for right now, the productivity is energizing.

A challenge like this helps you focus your attention on the most important things – eating well, exercising, reading, and your passion project with the extra time in the day. I’m not saying you need to do 75 Hard to rediscover your productivity, but it’s not a terrible option.

If you feel like you’re in a rut and need a change, try figuring out the few things in your life that matter most. What would you like to be doing on a daily basis or at least consistently? Once you have your list, start implementing routines and discovering ways to weave them into any space you have.
