Start Your Day Right

There’s something freeing and empowering about starting your day off with an accomplishment. Setting the mood for the day with a win can be life altering.

I’m starting the switch to morning walks for the remainder of 75 Hard. I’ve done my walk first thing a few times now and every time I do, I feel way better about the day ahead. It’s so nice knowing half my workouts for the day are already done before I even go to work. I feel energized, my body’s loosened up, and I’m hyped to only have a gym session left.

It’ll kinda suck waking up even earlier just to fit a walk in, but I know it’s only temporary and the relief will be worth it. Separating my two workouts will likely feel easier and way less daunting than doing them back to back after a long day of work.

It’s similar to the idea of creating small wins in the morning – making your bed, cleaning up after your breakfast, following a healthy morning ritual. You set the course of the day by accomplishing something important right away. It feels great knowing you performed something good before life starts coming at you.

You don’t have to go for a long walk right when you wake up, but try completing an important task in the morning. Do something you typically don’t want to do, something that may be challenging. Doing so will prove your discipline to yourself and make you feel better for the entire day to come. Give it a shot and see how it changes you.
