Writing your two eulogies can be an eye opening lesson on what you need to work on.
If you were to die tomorrow, what would your eulogy sound like? If you were to live a full life and accomplish every goal you ever had, how would your eulogy differ? How can you get from A to B?
This idea came from Catherine Hoke in an interview with Tim Ferriss (Listen HERE). The quote got me thinking about where I am now and where I’d like to go from here.
Right after hearing this, I paused the podcast to consider my eulogies. The eulogy I wrote for my current life started with: Bryce had so many goals and so many dreams left to be fulfilled.
My second eulogy began with: Anything Bryce desired to do, he did without hesitation. He lived a life of passion and never let fear prevent action.
The task of writing your two eulogies can show you what you can be doing differently in your life. This activity can show you how far you are from living your best life. By considering this, it can help start the process of getting from point A to point B.
What do your two eulogies tell you? Are you living your life on your own terms, accomplishing all your goals, doing all that you can, and are you happy? If the two eulogies don’t line up, what’ll it take for someone to write the second eulogy instead of the first?
Hopefully this experiment can be an eye opening lesson that teaches you to take action.
